Traversa Ride 360 and Here Comes the Bus
The District’ Transportation Department is now using Traversa Ride 360—a school bus tracking app for your mobile device. The app will allow families to track buses, provide all of your bus stop/pickup information, and can notify you when your child’s buses are late. We are excited to offer this free resource to families.
Downloading and using the app is easy —simply download the Traversa Ride 360 app to your phone, select “School District 197” and follow the prompts to register your student. You will need your child's six digit Student ID which you can find in the Campus Parent Portal here. For more detailed instructions on downloading the app, check out the Traversa Ride 360 Section below.
Please note that the Here Comes the Bus App is still available to use and a great tool for tracking the real-time location of your student's bus. Scroll down to the Here Comes the Bus Section for detail.
School District 197 owns and operates a fleet of more than 60 buses for transporting students to and from school. Ensuring students have a safe and enjoyable bus ride is a collaborative effort between students, the bus driver, parents/guardians, the school, and even the community. Everyone plays a part in keeping children safe by following the bus rules, reinforcing proper bus behavior, treating fellow riders and their belongings with respect, watching for buses on the road, and being attentive to passengers entering or exiting a bus.
The Transportation Office welcomes questions and inquiries. When calling, please keep in mind that the office receives the highest number of calls when buses are on the road (7-9 a.m. and 2-4 p.m.). Late or missed buses, cancellations, and special program busing are priority calls during these hours. If you have questions or comments that are not urgent, please wait and call when buses are not operating.

Bus Registration Information and Forms
Who needs to register for the bus?
Please complete the required form for all eligible students needing transportation including Open Enrolled and Special Requests for Childcare address, Change of Home Address or a alternate existing bus stop.
If your student does not ride the bus for 10 consecutive days, your child will be removed from his/her bus route. To reactivate your student's bus stop, please re register using this form again.
We can optimize school bus route planning if we know which students will actually ride.
