National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) Events

Throughout the month of February, School District 197 joins other districts, organizations, communities and individuals across the country in celebrating Black History Month. From presentations about Black leaders to art displays and student-led projects, schools across the district offer engaging ways for students to celebrate and honor Black histories, stories, culture, and voices.

Each school has hosted unique opportunities for students to participate throughout the month, including this week’s National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID). NAAPID is a day for parents and guardians to learn about their children’s school day and support their children’s educational future.
