Together we thrive --- many schools, one community

Highlighting different ways our schools come together shows how committed we are to caring relationships and thriving together. These students have been connecting and building relationships across different communities while learning:

Students at Heritage Environmental-STEM Middle School have been working hard writing their own stories and turning them into books by adding covers and binding the spines. They shared their stories with third and fourth-grade classes at Moreland Arts and Health Sciences Magnet School. Afterward, students exchanged questions about writing, favorite books, and student life in middle school. Middle schoolers showed great pride in their creations and were happy to answer questions from their very thoughtful and inquisitive Moreland audience members. Thanks to all teachers involved in making this collaboration happen!

Last week, students from Mendota Elementary visited Pilot Knob STEM Magnet School to connect with students from a different building. During the visit, the students compared two different versions of Billy Goats Gruff then worked in groups to create Venn diagrams to identify similarities and differences between the two versions. Many students saw friends they knew from outside of school and made new friends during the visit.
