Fall 2023 High School Activities Recap
The fall season for Two Rivers High School athletics and activities just wrapped up, and what a season our 471 high school fall student-athletes and 63 students who participated in our two fall activities: Debate and Fall Play. Here’s a recap of the fall season—please join us in congratulating our students and sending a special thanks to all the coaches, advisors, and families for supporting our students in so many ways this fall!
Fall Play
The Two Rivers Theatre Department presented Clue at the Two Rivers Auditorium on November 16-18. The three performances were enjoyed by many with each night giving the audience a different ending to the mystery!
Debate
The Two Rivers Debate Team had a strong regular season followed by an exceptional State Tournament. In the regular season one varsity team finished in the top five teams in 3 of 6 tournaments. At the State Tournament we had three varsity teams advance to the elimination round. The team of Arina Axina and Grace Lyles; and Patrick Bohmbach and Elizebeth Barnes made it to the Quarterfinals. While Josh Langemo and Andre Carreras competed in the Semi Final round. This is the first time Two Rivers has advanced more than one team to the elimination rounds of the Minnesota Classic Debate State Tournament.
Girls Tennis
The Girls Tennis team finished with an overall record of 10-10. Sophia Kanavati was named Metro East All Conference and Bryn Christopherson and Maia McDougall were named Honorable Mention All Conference.
Girls Cross Country
The Girls Cross Country team finished as Metro East Conference CHAMPIONS! Maria Becker, Josie Miller, Charlotte Chandler, and Nina Kanavati were named All Conference and Gabriela Walz, Ella Hoffman, and Katie Stein were named Honorable Mention All Conference. The team finished as Section 4AA Team Runner-up and qualified for the MSHSL State Tournament. State Participants were Nina Kanavati, Maggie McEllistrem, Maria Becker, Gabriela Walz, Charlotte Chandler, Josie Miller, Ella Hoffman, and Lily Wollan.
Boys Cross Country
The Boys Cross Country team finished as Metro East Conference CHAMPIONS! Patrick Donohoo, Lucas Esten, Jon Wollan, Max Molinaro, Niah Fernandes, Silas Bloom, and Quinn Keyes were named All Conference. The team finished in 3rd place in the Section 4AA meet. Individuals Patrick Donohoo, Lucas Esten, and Max Molinaro all qualified for the MSHSL State Tournament.
Girls Soccer
The Girls Soccer team finished in 3rd place in the Metro East Conference with an overall record of 10-6-1 on the season. Lily Leitner, Edith Halverson, and Faye Leitner were named All Conference and Maggie McEllistrem, Peyton Tuhy, and Lucy Wedewer were named Honorable Mention All Conference.
Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer team finished in 2nd place in the Metro East Conference with an overall record of 10-4-2 on the season. Emilio Meza, Jack Filhart, Jeremiah Shenouda, and Quinn Fraley were named All Conference and Sam Kallon, Pablo Matos Varela, and Dylan Anaya Ochoa were named Honorable Mention All Conference.
Football
The Football team finished the season with an 8-2 record and were crowned District CHAMPIONS. Max Mogelson, Riley Pearce, Ramzi Rislove, Carter Garland, Adam Suchy, and Caleb Koury were named All District and Drew Altavilla, Jony Quiroz, Nathan Rohrer, Mason Krupenny, Jabari LeFlore, Mason Boyken, Johnny Laugerman, and Jacion Jones were name Honorable Mention All District. Mogelson was also named District Defensive Player of the Year and was selected to participate in the All Star Game being played at US Bank Stadium. Pearce earned Academic All State honors and was named District Defensive Lineman of the Year, and Rislove was named District Running Back of the Year.
Girls Volleyball
The Volleyball team finished as Metro East Conference CHAMPIONS! Izzy Kirchner, Emily Rosen, and Piper Geving were named All Conference and Gabi Kirchner, Tessa Bulson, and LaRae Dodson were named Honorable Mention All Conference.
Girls Swim & Dive
The Girls Swim and Dive team finished their season in 2nd place in the Metro East Conference, 3rd place at the True Team meet, and 4th place in the Section meet. Maggie Auran, Charlotte Vogen, Eden Hill, Elyse Jahn, Ava Appleton, Carys Walsh, Sada Gustafson, and Savannah Carr were all named All Conference. Many warriors qualified for the MSHSL State Tournament: Grace Marek and Savannah Carr qualified in diving and Elyse Jahn, Maggie Auran, Charlotte Vogen, and Eden Hill qualified in the swim meet.
