Free Meals Available to Area Children Again This Summer

TSummer mealshis summer, School District 197 is again participating in the Minnesota Department of Education’s Summer Food Service Program. The district will provide free breakfast and lunch meals at two schools to all children 18 and under. No pre-registration is required; children simply need to show up to receive the meal.

Free meals will be served to any child age 18 or under at the following locations:

Garlough Elementary School Cafeteria 
1740 Charlton Street, West St. Paul, MN 55118

Heritage E-STEM Magnet School 
121 West Butler Avenue, West St. Paul, MN 55118
Breakfast: 7:30-9:00 a.m.
Lunch: 10:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
June 12 – July 5, 2019: Monday through Friday (No Service July 4 & 5)
July 8 – August 15, 2019: Monday through Thursday

Somerset Elementary School  
1355 Dodd Road, Mendota Heights, MN 55118
Breakfast: 8:00-9:30 AM, Lunch: 11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
July 8 – August 1, 2019: Monday through Thursday

The Summer Food Service Program assists local organizations, such as schools, to operate programs providing nutritious meals and healthy activities for children during the summer months when school-year nutrition and activity programs are unavailable.

Free meals are also being offered by YouthPrise at Wentworth Library Monday-Friday from 12 p.m.-1 p.m., June 10 through August 30 (closed July 4). Wentworth Library is located at 199 East Wentworth Ave. in West St. Paul.

Summer Meals SpanishJóvenes de 18 años o menos pueden este verano, gratuitamente comer un nutritivo desayuno y almuerzo en la escuela intermedia Heritage E-STEM y escuela básica Somerset.  No se requiere pre-registrarse; los niños simplemente necesitan llegar para recibir su comida.

También se ofrecen comidas gratis en la biblioteca "Wentworth" los lunes a viernes de 12 a 1 de la tarde 10 de junio al 30 de agosto (no habrá servicio julio 4). La Biblioteca Wentworth está ubicada en 199 East Wentworth Ave. en West St. Paul.
