New Two Rivers Middle School Dance Team
The new Two Rivers High School Middle School Dance Team had an incredible first year with 40 student-athletes in fifth and sixth grade, participating from both Heritage Environmental-STEM Middle School and Friendly Hills Middle School!
This fun, non-competitive team focuses on facilitating a love for dance, being a part of a team, and learning dance techniques. Coaches Stacy Dreelan and Juli Kuntz (who are both also Heritage staff members!) believe that this team will spark an interest in many of our student-athletes to continue their passion for dance with the competitive high school dance team. We asked Alejandra, a sixth grader at Friendly Hills, what she loved most about this new team, and she shared: "It was so awesome to be able to dance this year. I learned a lot from my coaches and I feel ready to try out for the high school team later this spring.” Molly Engle, Two Rivers Varsity Head Coach, brought the new team together with the goal of introducing an accessible dance team to our younger middle school students and making the transition easier to the high school team.
The middle schoolers ended their season by performing last weekend at the Two Rivers News Years Classic Dance Invitational, including the Two Rivers Dance Team cheering them on!
