All You Need to Know About SAC Summer Camps

Our School-Age Care (SAC) program offers enriching activities and experiences designed to keep kindergarten through eighth grade children engaged, active, and having fun beyond the school day. During the summer, we offer SAC summer camps for students at two different sites—one for kindergarten through grade four and one for grades five through eight.

Below, we’re sharing updates to our SAC registration process, fees, and hiring information.

SAC During the Summer

Summer SAC Attack for Kindergarteners - Grade 4: Located at Moreland Arts & Health Sciences Magnet School in West St. Paul, SAC summer camp provides a full day of supervision and recreation activities for students entering kindergarten through fourth grade in the fall of 2024. Children enjoy weekly trips to the West St. Paul pool, Harmon Park playground and splash pad, field trips (in the past, we’ve gone to Cascade Bay Waterpark, Stages Theater, Dakota County Fair, and more!), and a variety of enriching activities. Children choose their activities based on their interests and needs.

SAC Summer STORM for Grades 5 - 8: Our middle school program at the Noreen Activity Center (NAC) in West St. Paul is for youth entering grades 5 through 8 in the fall of 2024. Youth will enjoy age-appropriate programming that they have a hand in creating. They can access a full gym, lounge, game room, kitchen, and community parks. They will have field trips, fun excursions with our bike fleet, and a variety of fun, creative, and enriching activities!

2024 SAC Summer Camp Dates and Hours

  • June 12- August 16 (Closed June 19, July 4, July 5)
  • Full Day Care: M-F, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Registration Process

To better plan for staffing and have a more equitable registration process, SAC summer camps will be filled using a tiered lottery process this year. There’s no need to rush to complete the form once registration opens—you’ll have two weeks to complete your SAC registration forms.

All families who register between March 1 (at 8:00 a.m.) and March 15 (at 11:59 p.m.) will be entered into a lottery and accepted in this prioritization:

  • District employees

  • Current SAC and waitlisted families, new kindergartners, and new District (fall 2024) students

  • All other families

Between March 18-22, our staff will process lottery forms for current, returning, waitlisted, incoming kindergartners, and new District families. Starting the week of March 25, we will notify families via email if your child (or children) was drawn and accepted into SAC summer camp or waitlisted. Families will be accepted as a group.

Summer Camp Contract Details and Fees

Below are the two different ways you can register your child(ren):

  • Consistent weekly schedules: The same days every week, 3 day a week minimum required.  All consistent weekly schedules for summer must begin on June 12 and go through August 16.
  • Pick-your-day monthly schedules: Submit a schedule of 3 or more days a week every week. Schedules are due on the 15th of the month prior. It is a higher daily cost (pricing is below) but offers flexibility for varying family schedules.

The registration fee is $45 per child. There is an additional fee of $10.00 per child to purchase a swim shirt, which is mandatory for swimming field trips.

Please note: When your registration is accepted, your payment method will be charged for your registration fee and your first week of summer tuition. If paying the first week of SAC Summer Camp creates difficulties at this time, please contact Necole Berglund at 651-403-8054 or for possible payment plan options.

Registration days:

  • 2024 Summer SAC Camp registration will be open from March 1 to March 15.

  • 2024-25 School Year SAC registration will be open from April 1 to April 12.
