Two Rivers Leadership Team

Dr. Jessica Cabak, Principal
This is my fifth year working in School District 197 and at Two Rivers High School, but my first year as principal!
As principal, one of my most important responsibilities is instructional leadership—focusing on every aspect of teaching and learning. That includes staffing and professional development, collaborative lesson planning and assessments, coaching teachers, and monitoring instruction to ensure students are engaged in high-quality learning opportunities.
My favorite thing about Two Rivers is our incredible community—our students, families, staff members, and community partners are the best!
I want families to know that at Two Rivers, we care deeply about your student’s success. We want students to feel supported, safe, and encouraged, and we want them to leave here prepared for their next step after high school.
Megan Ahlberg, Associate Principal
This is my first year working in School District 197!
In my role, I serve as the 9th-grade administrator. I collaborate with BARR teams to support student success, oversee Warrior Time, and coordinate AP testing. I also serve on the Curriculum Advisory Committee.
So far, my favorite thing about Two Rivers is how welcoming and supportive the staff and families are.I hope that every student and family experiences a school where students feel like they are part of the community, know they are supported, and leave after four years confident and prepared for their future.
Scott Karlen, Associate Principal
This is my 25th year in School District 197 and my 18th year at Two Rivers.
I work with students with the last names A-K in grades 10–12. Outside of school leadership, I’ve coached baseball at both the high school and youth levels in our community for over 15 years of my nearly 30-year coaching career.
My favorite thing about Two Rivers is the way our students feel connected to school and community through the many opportunities we provide. The strong relationships and sense of belonging they develop here carry with them long after they leave.
My advice for families is to encourage your student to get and stay involved in extracurricular activities and be strategic in selecting classes that suit their skill sets and interests. Stay positive and supportive through challenging times, and your student will thrive here.
Tom Orth, Associate Principal
This is my 37th year in School District 197. I started my career at Grass Junior High (now Heritage E-STEM Magnet School), where I spent 10 years before moving to Two Rivers.
I work with students with the last names L-Z in grades 10–12. I serve on the building safety team, lead graduation and SAT planning, and help with assessments. Beyond that, I’m also the co-head football coach, a community member, and a strong supporter of all Two Rivers activities.
I love that Two Rivers is big enough to offer a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, yet small enough for students to participate in more than one. Our students and staff are incredibly accepting of one another, which makes this a special place.
Prentice Smith, Activities Director
I am starting my ninth year serving as Activities Director at Two Rivers High School and entering my 24th year in the district.
I administer and coordinate all extracurricular activities including service groups, clubs, activities, athletics, and events at Two Rivers. I also serve on the Warrior Hall of Fame Committee.
My favorite thing about Two Rivers is that we foster an environment that encourages students to explore options and to participate in what they are passionate about. Two Rivers is a welcoming place that provides an opportunity for personal and academic growth with opportunities to be involved.
Please say hello when you see us in the halls or at events! We love connecting with students and families, and we’re excited to get to know you.
