Two Rivers Students Receive National Academic All American Award
We are pleased to announce that Two Rivers students Arina Axinia, Quinn Hendel, and Grace Lyles have received the prestigious National Academic All American award from the National Speech and Debate Association! There are 141,000 student-members in the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) and fewer than 2% receive this honor.
All three students are recognized for their performance in Speech and Debate and in the classroom. Arina, Quinn, and Grace are juniors, which means they joined Speech and Debate as freshmen in a total virtual setting. This is not the easiest way to learn either of these activities, but they each rose to the challenge.
Two Rivers Teacher and Head Speech and Debate Coach Ben Geiger shares that over the last three years Arina, Quinn, and Grace have been instrumental in growing the program. “Their leadership extends beyond helping students improve in these activities. They often help fellow competitors with course work and push the whole team to be successful as a group. As a trio their performance in these activities, academic success and leadership show why they have earned NSDA Academic All American. It is simply awesome to work with these amazing students.” Congratulations Arina, Quinn and Grace on earning this well deserved award—we are so proud of you!
