What is Parent Academy?

Parent Academy is a free six-week course or targeted seminar for parents and caregivers of District 197. Parent Academy is designed to connect parents and caregivers to their child’s school, to post-secondary resources, and to other parents in the school community. Courses are offered in the evenings from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. and transportation, childcare, and dinner are provided free of charge!  All courses are taught and led by District staff members.

What will I do?

At Parent Academy we want to give you the tools to support your child’s education. During the classes we talk about how to navigate the school system and how to access the educational opportunities available for your children.
