Please note: it is the parents responsibility to notify your child's teacher what their SAC schedule is. If you have a drop in or flex schedule you must let your child's teacher know when they are to come to SAC. 

You must report all absences to your SAC site before your child's scheduled care dates. If we do not hear from you, we must locate your child to ensure their safety. This will result in a $10.00 finders fee being added to your account. 

SAC Contract Details
Below are the two different ways you can register your child(ren):

Consistent weekly schedule: The same days every week, three days a week minimum required.
When choosing this schedule type, you are allowed "vacation days" that you will not be charged for if your child does not attend. The number of days you are granted each school year equals the number of days your child attends in a week. For more information, please review the Family Handbook.

Pick-your-monthly schedule: Submit a schedule for three or more days a week every week. Schedules are due on the 15th of the month prior. It is a higher daily cost (pricing is below) but offers flexibility for varying family schedules.

Where is the drop-in schedule option? Due to staffing challenges, there is no longer a drop-in schedule option for families. Drop-in days are ONLY available to families with a consistent weekly or pick-your-monthly schedule. For these scheduled families, you may request to add a drop-in day with advance notice.

School Age Care tuition statements are emailed out to you on or before the 15th of each month. Tuition fees cover a one month period and payment is due by the first business day of the month in which care takes place. Save time and avoid late fees by signing up for credit card or checking account auto pay.  You can sign up for this by logging into your account at tridistrictce.arux.app. You can also log in at any time to make a check or credit card payment, or mail a check or money order to: ISD 197 SAC, 1979 Summit Lane, Mendota Heights, MN 55118. Payments in any form are not accepted at SAC sites. Please call Necole Berglund at 651-403-8054 with billing questions.

SAC is closed on the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, and Memorial Day. If you attend our summer program, we are also closed on June 19th and July 4th. If a holiday falls on a weekend, a different day will be chosen.

Before school, SAC will be available from 6:30 a.m. until the start of the school day. Based on enrollment and staff availability, before-school sites may be combined, and children will be bussed to their home school by their school’s start time.  After school care is open from 2:15 pm until 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.

The registration fee is $45 per child.

Sac 2026-2027 K-4 Fees:

Consistent schedule: Before School - $8.50 / After School - $21.75

Pick-your-monthly schedule: Before School  - $10.50 /After School - $24.75

Drop-in: Before school - $12.50 / After School - $27.75

There is no transportation available to bring your child to morning care or to transport them to another location after School Age Care has closed.

 

School Age Care Registration for the 2026-27 School Year Opens February 9th, 2026

Our School-Age Care (SAC) program offers enriching activities and experiences designed to keep children from kindergarten through eighth grade engaged, active, and having fun beyond the school day.

Please note: The first date of SAC will be the first day your child begins the 2026-27 school year. Kindergarteners and 5th graders start school on September 8, and grades 1-4 and 6-8 will begin on September 9. Please register your child/ren’s start date according to the school calendar.

SAC registration for the 2026-27 school year opens on February 9, 2026. Below, we’re sharing details about the SAC program, registration process, fees, and hiring information. 

SAC Programs During the School Year

There are two SAC programs offered during the school year:

Extra Innings for Grades K - 4: 

Extra Innings is our program for elementary school students. Before school, SAC will be available from 6:30 a.m. until the start of the school day. Based on enrollment and staff availability, before-school sites may be combined, and children will be bussed to their home school by their school’s start time. After school, SAC runs from the end of the school day until 6:00 p.m. at each elementary school.

Encore for Grades 5 - 8: 

Our Encore program supports students in grades 5-8. Morning care begins at 6:30 a.m. and is offered at your child’s school site, Heritage Middle School, or Friendly Hills. After-school programming involves students taking district transportation to the Noreen Activity Center (1575 Charlton St., West St. Paul). After school, SAC operates from the end of the school day until 6:00 p.m.

School Year SAC Registration Process 

The SAC school year program will be filled using a tiered lottery process. There’s no need to rush to complete the form once registration opens—you’ll have two weeks to complete your SAC registration forms. 

All families who register between February 9 (at 8:00 a.m.) and February 20 (at 11:59 p.m.) will be entered into a lottery and accepted in this prioritization:

• District employees
• Current SAC and waitlisted families, new kindergartners, and new District (fall 2026) students
• All other families

Between February 23-27, our staff will process lottery forms for current and returning students, waitlisted students, incoming kindergartners, and new District families. We will notify families via email beginning March 9, 2026, if your child (or children) was drawn and accepted into SAC or waitlisted. Families will be accepted as a group.

Non School Days 

Mendota Elementary: 1979 Summit Lane, Mendota Heights

Please note that district transportation is not available for NSD’s and you are responsible for bringing your children into the building and signing them in. These days are not refundable or able to be canceled. Fees are based on registration. There is no reduction in fees for child absence.

How do I report an absence?

If your child will be absent, please inform the staff via a note or phone call to the site. There is no reduction of fees for student absence.

When, where, and how do I pay for School-Age Care?
