Warrior Care at Two Rivers High School

As a School-Based Health Clinic, we're committed to providing accessible and affordable care for everyone. Here's how Riverland approaches the cost of care:

• Insurance Accepted: Riverland accepts all major insurance providers. Your final cost will depend on your specific insurance plan's coverage, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance. We will bill your insurance provider directly.
• Sliding Fee Discount Program: For patients who qualify based on income and household size, Riverland offers a sliding fee discount program. See the documents here (English) and here (Spanish) for more information. Our Sliding Fee Acknowledgement can be found here.
• Payment Plans Available: We understand that healthcare costs can sometimes be a concern. We can work with you to create a manageable payment plan for any services you receive.
• Cost Transparency: We believe in being upfront about costs. We can provide you with a cost estimate before you receive any service. 
• Preventive care coverage: Many insurance plans cover routine checkups and screenings at 100%, meaning families often have no out-of-pocket costs for these visits. (Check with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage.)

Riverland Community Health Payment Options

Our goal is to ensure you receive the care you need without financial barriers. Please don't hesitate to talk to Riverland staff about any cost concerns or to inquire about our discount programs and payment options.

Most services require parent/caregiver consent. Students under 18 need to turn in a signed parent or guardian consent form to receive all non-confidential clinic services, like:

• Check-ups

• Illness care

• Immunizations

Some services may be available to minors without parental consent as allowed by Minnesota law (like pregnancy or pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infections, mental health care, and substance use). If you think your student will use Warrior Care this school year, please fill out the consent forms now for easier appointment scheduling when you need care. Consent forms will be good for one year (12 months).

Two Rivers High School and Riverland Community Health follows HIPAA health privacy laws. We understand being in a school setting can add concerns—your health information stays in the clinic except when sharing is required by law or you provide consent.

• Who can be seen at Warrior Care? Two Rivers High School students and staff. 
• Do students have to miss class? We schedule to minimize class time. Passes will be provided.
• If my student is in the high school, do they need a pass for their Warrior Care appointment? Yes. Just let the front office know they have an appointment or use the TalkingPoints attendance line. The student will be given a pass to come to the clinic. We will give the student a pass to go back to class after the appointment.
• Do parents have to come? Not typically—see the consent section for details.
• Is it really private? Yes. We follow HIPAA and protect your privacy.
• Will signing up mean we cannot use our family doctor? You can still use your family doctor. You may find it convenient for your child to receive care at the clinic if they get sick or injured while at school.
• Can I choose whether my child will receive services? Yes, you can give consent to non-confidential health care services by completing the parent consent forms. You don’t need to be present for the appointment, but you are always welcome to attend a visit.
• Can the siblings of my Two Rivers student also be seen at the Warrior Care clinic? For the 2025-26 school year, Warrior Care will only be providing services to Two Rivers students and staff. Families can still visit the Riverland clinic in St. Paul for same-day and next -day visits.
• Will it be open to other district students/families/community in the future? Our long-term goal is to expand access districtwide as the health center proves sustainable and has the capacity to meet demand.

Partners
Warrior Care is managed in partnership with Riverland Community Health and School District 197 to provide high-quality, accessible care for Two Rivers students and staff. We coordinate with school staff while maintaining patient privacy.

Students can complete their required physicals at Warrior Care inside the Two Rivers Health Office. A printable copy of the Sports Physical Form can be found below, and are available in the Activities and Health Offices.
